_I am 58 years old, born and raised in Western Washington. I love Washington state and don’t want to live anywhere else. I am a 2 time graduate from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish – minor in French and a Master’s degree in Education. I have three grown children. I am married to my second husband, Bill. He is my soul mate and my best friend. I have a Miniature Pinscher named Tommy, a kitty named Samantha, and two horses – Diva and Muddy. If you haven’t guessed, I am an animal lover. I am in my 15th year of teaching high school French and Spanish. In 2014, during a routine mammogram, it was discovered that I had breast cancer. In May of that year, I had surgery to remove the cancer. Luckily, I only had to have a lumpectomy and 28 sessions of radiation therapy. It has been 4 years and no trace of cancer so far. I continue to take hormone-blocking medication and am soon approaching my 5th and final year after surgery. I am grateful to be alive and thriving.
